Clusters allow a country to support its companies during an economic recovery by bringing together and pooling skills from all different players (companies, laboratories and others working within a same dynamic sector). There are currently 71 competitiveness clusters in France, with 11 in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, including 1 world-class cluster (SCS). At the end of 2008, the Region set up 29 approved regional clusters (PRIDES), bringing together companies that represent the skilled sectors in which the region’s economic players operate.
PRIDES: an innovative approach
Established in 2008, the regional Clusters are regional hubs where entrepreneurial and collaborative bonds are fostered. They are comprised of partners who represent the economic expertise that thrives in Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur. Their projects are based on a different approach to economics, encompassing innovation in its broadest sense as well as the concept of collaboration. They contribute to wealth creation and long-term employment.
The Provence Côte d’Azur Events InterPRIDES objective
Drawing on its skills working within the Network of regional Clusters, Provence Côte d’Azur Events naturally occupies an ‘inter-PRIDES’ role that involves close collaboration with other clusters in a bid to pinpoint their event needs and to meet their expectations by offering specialised service providers and solutions, helping to establish major national and international conventions in the region and identifying local ambassadors capable of petitioning for an international collaborative convention in the region.
