Stéphane AZOULAY,  Member of the Local Organising Committee, Vice-President Training – ComUE University Côte d’Azur & Vice-President Training – University Nice Sophia Antipolis
EFMC-ISMC, XXVII International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry, Nice,

“In September 2022, we will co-organize the 27th International Symposium on Medicinal Chemistry in Nice. This biennial event, led by the European Federation for Medicinal Chemistry, welcomes about 1,200 participants from the pharmaceutical industry and academia.

Thanks to high-quality research conducted at the Côte d’Azur University, a centre of excellence according to the state-funded programme IDEX (Initatives d’Excellence), easy accessibility to and from Nice through its international airport, a highly flexible convention centre, and a good image of the city on the international scene, our bid made the difference.

In addition, we benefitted, at a local level, from the support of Nice Convention Bureau and many stakeholders of the whole supply chain. They were very helpful putting the bid together and giving us advice in terms of off-site venues and social events – a real added value. On a regional level, Provence-Côte d’Azur Events acted as a facilitator for us to obtain a letter of support from the President of the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region, with a financial grant of up to 30,000€ – which of course we highly appreciate for an event of this magnitude.”

Bernard REVERCHON, President of the Organizing Committee
27th Congress / 89th Annual Meeting of International Commission On Large Dams, Marseille, 2021

“In June 2021 Marseille will host the 27th Congress and the 89th Annual Meeting of the International Commission on Large Dams. More than 1500 specialists and experts working in the field of dams and reservoirs from a hundred countries are expected to attend, the result of a winning bid that the French Committee of Dams and Reservoirs presented in Prague in 2017 at the General Assembly of the CIGB.

Several players were key to secure the event in France, Marseille Convention Bureau, Marseille Chanot Convention Centre, and Provence-Côte d’Azur Events, the regional Convention Bureau, through the written support of Jean-Yves Le Drian, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Renaud Muselier, President of the South Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region, who promised a grant for this congress, through a close collaboration with Atout France to organise a supporting event at the French Embassy in Prague.

We thank them all and look forward to getting support with the organisation of technical visits and events which will take place in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur during and after the congress.”

More than 260 international researchers met to think and share ideas on various research topics which are the core concerns of R&D shakeholders in Sophia Antipolis and in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region: Signal processing (optimization, automatic learning) and wireless communications of the future (5G-6G, connected vehicles, IoT, smart city, smart grids).

With a historical record of participation for this international annual conference, we are proud to testify the extraordinary attractivity of Cannes.

In the name of the organising team, David Gesbert, Professor at EURECOM and General Chair IEEE SPAWC 2019 would like to thank the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region for its financial support, which was essential to a smooth organisation.

Lydia KERKERIAN-LE GOFF, President of the Neuroscience Society
NeuroFrance, Marseille, 22-24 May 2019

NeuroFrance 2019, international colloquium of the Neuroscience Society, gathered during three days in the Marseille Chanot Convention Centre more than 1300 delegates and exhibitors from 27 different nationalities around a program which highlighted the last scientific and technological advances on the nervous system and its pathologies.

The importance of the local neuroscience community, the commitment of the South Region in research and health sectors and the attractivity of Marseille were decisive elements in the selection of the destination for this 14th edition of our biennal event. We would like to thank all our partners for their support, which was decisive for the success of our conference, and in particular the South Region and Provence Côte d’Azur Events for their contribution with the “Attract Congresses and Event” program.”

Karine MICHEA, Deputy Director, Natural Reserves of France
National Congress of Natural Reserves, Le-Monêtier-les-Bains, 5-8 June 2019

“A landmark congress on natural reserves at the heart of nature in the South Region »

The congress on natural reserves of France took place in Le-Monêtier-les-Bains at the beginning of June 2019 and gathered around 400 professionals in the field of nature.

Numerous participants expressed their great satisfaction on the event destination – which hosted the congress only for the second time in 37 years – as well as the quality of exchanges on the adaptation to the consequences of climate change.

It was indeed the opportunity to discover the Region’s large riches of natural spaces with remarkable heritage, and to be in contact with local public stakeholders. The destination will remain a reference for the congress of natural reserves.

The presence of the Secretary of State to Ecology, Mrs. Emmanuelle Wargon, during the plenary is a strong sign of recognition of the work realised by all the managers of protected natural spaces.

This event was co-organized by the Ecrins National Parc and RNF with the support of local natural reserves managers, the tourism office of Le-Monêtier-les-Bains as well as the region Sud Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur and the Interregional Conventionf of the Alps.”

Aurélie DOUSSET, Communication manager, France Hydro Electricité
France Hydro Meeting, Arles, 31 May – 1st June 2018

“France Hydro Electricité, national union of small-scale hydroelectricity, yearly organises its Meetings. The 10th edition took place in June 2018 at the Arles Convention Centre. This event is dedicated to professionals in the sector of small hydraulic installations and gathers around 500 participans during 2 days. The program focuses on round tables and an exhibition space of around 80 stands.  The proactivity of the region’s teams allowed us to discover the Arles Convention Center, which size and equipment matched our needs. We were thus able to build an event unanimously praised by the participants.”
